How much electricity does it cost per month to charge an electric bike?

The demand for electric vehicles is constantly increasing. Renowned bike companies are also bringing electric bikes and scooters to the market one after another. Electric bikes and scooters are being charged at home. However, this is increasing the monthly electricity consumption of the house.

An electric car or bike can usually travel 150 to 400 kilometers on a single charge. However, some companies' EVs can travel even further. When the battery of such a car runs low, it has to be taken to a charging station. However, many people charge it at home. In that case, it is important to have a strong electricity connection at home.

For this, you need a heavy socket. Charging from a light socket is likely to damage the socket. Again, the charge may not be correct. An electric car usually takes 6-12 hours to fully charge. In addition, the battery of an electric bike or scooter is between 300 and 100 watts. A 750 watt battery can give a mileage of 80 to 120 kilometers on a single full charge.

So if you don't remember, an electric bike with a 750 watt battery is charged for 10 hours a day. 10 x 750 = 7500 watts of power per day. If charged 4 days a week, 4 days x 4 weeks = 16 days a month.

Now if the electricity bill is 8 taka 95 paisa per unit, then in 10 hours a day, 0.75 watts × 8.95 = 6.71 taka will be spent. That is, charging a bike in a day will cost 6.71 taka. In a month, the cost will be 6.71 × 16 days = 107.36 taka, that is, 100 taka will be spent per month.
